The Blackhawks emblem known all over Chicago is, as you may have guessed, the Blackhawks Indian Head. Because it supposedly represents Blackhawks Indians, many see it as one of the offensive symbols used in sports teams. In my opinion, most of the team mascots, if anything, represent a race or culture in a positive light. The team obviously sees the symbol as inspiration or a representation of the teams spirit. Some examples like the "Cleveland Asians," "Cleveland Africans," and the "Cleveland Hispanics," show how ridiculous representing a race can make people feel (Source), but those pictures used unflattering stereotypical depictions of a race. The emblems used in many sports teams may use stereotypical depictions of a race, but they're supposed to bring light to the strength that it represents. In particular, the Blackhawks Indian is supposed to provide a face to the teams spirit.
